Help with Physical Work

Are you an individual or group with a little time and a willingness to roll up your sleeves? From time to time we will need people to clear brush, weeds and other unwanted materials. If you’d like to help, contact Sarah at 518-677-3555 or sashton5@verizon.net.

Help Spread the Word

Are you able to help us distribute brochures, speak with neighbors, share links to our site and newsy updates on social media, and help inform the community about the Owlkill Commons project? Increasing community awareness is very important. If you’d like to help, contact Sara Kelly at 518-677-8196 or sarakellygraphics@yahoo.com.

Other Ways to Help

Do you own a truck that could be used to haul brush or trash? Are you a skilled carpenter, painter or a licensed electrician? Do you have experience in creating nature trails? Do you know someone who is uniquely skilled to help? If you’d like to help, Sarah at 518-677-3555 or sashton5@verizon.net.

A Great Example of How to Help

Want to help but not sure how?
Maybe Jeremy Alexander’s example will inspire you as much as it inspires us!

Thanks to the work of many volunteers, and especially to Jeremy Alexander of Alexander Barnwood LLC, the Owlkill Commons project hit another key milestone. The old Lean-to building that was packed with “old stuff” has now been cleared. Read about the effort here (link to Eagle article). It was a great example of how we work hard to do things the right way: by preserving our precious donations and keeping cash costs to a minimum; with deep respect for heritage, history and the environment; as a collaborative community effort.

Thanks, Jeremy!
